Culture

The University of Technology is very close to old city centre of Vienna. Next to the University there is the most famous baroque church of Vienna the "Karlskirche". It was built from 1716 to 1722 by Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach on the occaison of a vow of the emperor Charles VI. (Karl der VI.), taken because of the terrible plague in Vienna.The great cupola of the church is 72 m high and is one of the landmarks of Vienna.

From the University you are very close to the old city centre of Vienna and it's landmark Stephansdom.
You can go there by feet or take the underground line U1 for only one station.
